House Of Mercy

House of Mercy in Waterloo, Iowa, was officially dedicated on December 12, 2003. The Waterloo House of Mercy is the seventh official house to open. Those already in existence are located in Erie, Pennsylvania; Chanmangua, Guatemala; Burlington, Vermont; Hartford, Connecticut; Baltimore, Maryland; and Benton Harbor, Michigan.

The Houses are founded in older, economically poor neighborhoods to provide a ministry of Mercy presence. By becoming a part of the neighborhood, the sisters have the opportunity to really get to know their neighbors and assist them, when requested, as advocates for systemic change.
