Why the Sisters of Mercy Need Your Support

Throughout their history, the regional communities of the Sisters of Mercy have been self-supporting.  Contrary to popular belief they are not supported by the Church, but rather through the salaries of their members in ministry and the gifts of donors, both from individuals and organizations.

As the average age of the Sisters increases, more elderly sisters will have health and living expenses that will need to be supported.  The remaining Sisters who are actively employed in their ministries, some are working in organizations that cannot afford to compensate them while others may not be earning at parity with their lay counterparts.  In addition to supporting the lives of the Sisters, the West Midwest Community also desires, if it is able, to help other Mercy communities in need and other programs that advance the Mercy mission.

The Sisters of Mercy invite your support both prayerfully and financially to assist them in their vital commitment of bringing Mercy to the world.
